Computer down!

DJ will not have internet service for the remainder of her trip. She is not looking for solutions, this is all part of the challenge. Between DJ , our wonderful web gal Tammi and myself we will work hard to continue to keep you up to date with her progress on this incredible journey. DJ is working hard preparing for the push to Alaska. Restocking supplies, repairing or replacing equipment, updating and organizing notes, working on public relations and mapping out her route are some of the many things she has been occupying her time with over the last several days. The road to Alaska will not be easy, this is not a vacation! Any body who has ever traveled the Alaskan Highway can attest to the treacherous conditions that one may encounter along the way. This is not the first time DJ has traveled this road. Last summer DJ rode unaccompanied from our home in New Mexico to Fairbanks Alaska on Big Bertha, so she knows what to expect, and is up to the task! In the 21 years that we have been married I have never known DJ to back down from a challenge. She is a remarkable woman with incredible strength of character and a indomitable spirit. Through grit and sheer determination DJ is doing all she can to help further the Posey Foundations mission to save lives. So if you haven't gotten involved yet , what are you waiting for? Join our team, and together we can help make a difference. Until next time..... God Bless. Updated by DJ's husband Mark

Computer complications!

DJ's computer may be down for the count, and it is possible she may be without internet service for the remainder of the trip. On a lighter note, Big Bertha was well cared for today, with new rubber donated by Avon Tyres plus fresh oil and filter and a thorough examination from the folks at Outdoor Motor Sports she is primed and ready for the push to Alaska. Thanks guys!! DJ would also like to send a heart felt thank you to the folks from Helmet House's donation of a new pair of boots and waterproof gloves. Until next time...God Bless. Howdy from BIG SKY Country!

Today was a day spent preparing info for our Posey Foundation Taxes & getting Big Bertha cleaned out before she goes in for service this week. I spoke to yesterday about my health & Wellness routine, well Big Bertha has one too!!

With over 193,650 on her in less than 7 years - she has had 65 oil changes!

Tires pressure checked daily on this Mission, the highest octane fuel, fresh oil & filter every 3000 miles plus a good going over each and every day by me.

We'd like to thank the folks of Avon Tyres for donating tires to the Posey Foundation.

I work very hard to keep myself & Big Bertha in tip top working condition.

Let me get back to the task at hand - Until next time my friend - God Bless, DJ & Big Bertha

Day 79............................

That means 79 days that I have done my yoga & stretched - actually I haven't missed one day of these exercises for 7.5 years - with lots of travel & even camping, 79 days of massaging my right foot that was crushed by a car while riding my Vulcan 800 almost 8 years ago! the humid weather has been brutal on it!!! Twice a day of taking my vitamins = 158 times. Let's break it down:

1000mg. V-C times 26 per day x 79 = 2054
Joint Formula for arthritis in my foot, knees, back, neck plus my throttle hand is shot right now & I will be spending a lot of time getting it & the rest of my body/machine ready for the Alcan - Joint capsules 6 per day x 79 = 474
Multi-vitamins 4 each morning x 79 = 316
Adrenal Plus Tabs - my Adrenal glands have been zapped for a couple of years now & these vitamins HELP!! 4 per day x 79 = 316
Senna to help (let's say keep me regular) 5/day = 395

Total: 3555 vitamins taken since the kick-off my 25,000 mile 50 State "Dream Power Ride" - May 6, 2006.

Plus: I eat no less than 2 pieces of fruit per day as many veggies as possible - lean meats, nuts & at least 3/4 to a full Gallon of water per day!

Yes, it is a challange to eat healthy & exercise while traveling, it CAN BE DONE with a lot of effert but as I see it - treat your body well & it will be able to do amazing things!!

Until next time my friends - God Bless, DJ & Big Bertha

PS - Thanks to those kind folks in ND & MT for donating a few bucks to help me get this Posey Foundation MISSION completed!!
