Why Big Bertha is SOOOO BIG!

Big Bertha has to be big to carry this much weight!

And DJ ... well, DJ has to be a genius to figure out how to load Big Bertha so Big Bertha can carry so much stuff!

An evening with friends.

DJ will spend the evening visiting with friends. Big Bertha is ready to go, but not without a little drama. The local bike shop that did the service on Big Bertha, crossed the fuel lines when they were putting her back together. DJ was on route 22, when all of a sudden Big Bertha stalled in the left lane. Now for those of you who are not familiar with Route 22, try to imagine everybody flying down the road at 55 or 60 miles an hour with only 6 inches between their bumpers. Anyway, DJ didn't panic, she reversed the fuel petcock and got Big Bertha going again and returned to the shop. To say she was a little pissed is an understatement. I'm willing to bet the temperature in that shop dropped 100 degrees in about two seconds. But hey life goes on. We'd like to THANK Mike Lawlor for donating a 1 hour massage, a Chocolate Thunder protien drink & a 1 week guest pass to Can Do Fitness to help DJ recharge for the next leg of her journey. YO .......from Jersey!

I took Big B. in for a service today..............I was told she is doing FINE!!!
They will keep her until noon on Saturday. I was givin a bike to borrow until then, a Yamaha V-Star 1100. Thanks to JBD Cycles for loaning me the bike - with straight pipes ------ the neighbors are going to love me tomorrow when I fire it up at 8:45AM..................:)

Re-connecting with old friends & as Mark said we lived in NJ together for 15 years but before that I sang Rock n' Roll in the tri-state area for 5 years.

I also aired out + sprayed with Lysol my tent, bike cover & sleeping back after the serious rain that has fallen across the US. Mold forms so fast, it blows your mind.

New Jersey state number 38!

DJ and Big Bertha are back in Jersey. For those of you who didn't know, DJ and I lived in New Jersey for fifteen years. During that time we made some great friends and DJ is going to spend the next few days visiting some of those wonderful folks. Day 61 - 35 States -14,500+ miles

Recharged, rain soaked & lovin' LIFE!!!

I had a very productive & relaxing Holiday weekend - hope you all had a great one too!

I landed in the 35th State today - Virginia. Pulled over 400 miles in thunderstorms & ready to go again tomorrow in more. I have gotten real good at standing in a 3/4 squat while riding to see over Big Bertha's windshield. I stood so long in the saddle today, my right foot went to sleep. It's a good thing I realized it before I stepped off the MC - that would have been quite the sight.............:) Big Bertha & I are high & dry in a hotel south of the Maryland state line.

Mountain Mama!

DJ is hunkered down in the Smokey Mountains. She will spend the next couple days resting, recharging both body and spirit before continuing Northward. DJ had a close encounter with a bee today, after being stung she had an allergic reaction.
