Day 106 and over 22,000 miles traveled!

After a cold windy day that included spotting a large black bear feeding by the side of the road, DJ is hunkered down for the night in Iron Creek.She would like to thank Dale and the two nice ladies at the gas station at mile 710 of the Alaska Highway for their very kind donations. Heading South!

DJ is camped just outside of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. She would like to thank the Bailey family once again for welcoming her into their home. Also thanks to Jessica, Ryan and Donna. Gut Check!

When I spoke to DJ she was about 50 miles from her stopping point. We didn't talk long because a storm was right on her heels. It rained on her again today and she rode on gravel for 75 miles. She sounded a little tired, but considering what she has been through she is holding up remarkably well. She will spend the evening at a campsite deep in the heart of bear country. You know it's funny, DJ has met quite a few large powerfully built men on this trip that were not afraid to admit that they would never attempt traveling through all 50 states alone. A friend of ours said it best, proclaiming that DJ had larger testicles than any man he had ever met. The truth is DJ is a brave incredibly strong woman, who's strength comes from her commitment to what she believes is a worthy cause. Until next time... God Bless. Updated by DJ's husband Mark.

Day 101, Fairbanks!

DJ is in Fairbanks Alaska. She would like to thank Doug of the Outpost Harley/ Honda shop for taking care of Big Bertha. Also she would like to thank Scott of the Golden North Hotel for providing a room. On the road between Dot Lake and Fairbanks, DJ spotted a female moose.
