South then West!

DJ is hunkered down for the night at a campsite in the Pocono mountains. Tomorrow she will begin the long journey West. DJ wanted me to talk to you about prejudice. You see she has encountered it all across the country.(Yes prejudice still does exist in this day and age for those of you living in denial or a plastic bubble.) What are we teaching our children, when will the ignorance stop? DJ isn't just riding for African Americans or women she is riding for all Americans regardless of color or creed. Heart disease and cancer don't discriminate they affect people of all races. So lets put aside or differences and work together to help eliminate these horrible diseases in our life time. Until next time..... God Bless. Updated by DJ's husband Mark

DJ. I grew up in the south, and with the prejudice there, a fact I am not proud of, in fact that is one reason we left. But let me tell you even as a white woman I have felt prejudice as a biker and I know some of what you are going through! And, there are all type of prejudices too, all from narrow minded people. I am sorry you felt some of it. I pray that you continue with your great work and rememember the cause, and to...keep the spirits up and the rubber side down! Angel

Dear Angel - I really thank you for ALL your wondeful words of support!! But prejudice is not only in the south. My husband is white & has lots of tattoos. Please treat him a certain way (with fear) but when he puts a long sleeve & covers his tats - the reactions to him is (hey how are you?)
I have been exposed to this negative - narrow minded hate for almost 50 years now & it has never stopped me from moving forward & living my life to the fullest!! I am on a Mission & will keep my head up high & I WILL SUCCEED!!! Please don't feel sorry for me - I am who I am & the world is the way it is - the only reason I expressed my experiences with our Posey Foundation readers is because - it just needed to be said!

Thanks again for your support- God Bless, DJ
